Always use the right cleanser
Different skin types need different care. The key is selecting a cleanser that doesn’t contain sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) - a detergent that is deep cleaning but also dehydrates the skin. Remember to use lukewarm water after you’re done and pat dry, don’t rub.
Change your moisturiser
Have you been using the same moisturiser for years? Then it’s time you try something new. With the advancements in science, we have come a long way with the war against dry skin. Look for products which have ingredients like berries, fruits, tea extracts and such. It is also a good idea to use vitamin-based emollients.
Eat more fish
As they say, “You are what you eat”. This couldn’t be truer when it comes to skin care. Doctors suggest a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and especially fish. Fishes are packed with omega-3 fatty acids which help your skin stay healthy and smooth. And always remember to drink lots of water.
Your skin has enemies. Avoid them
Alcohol, caffeine and excessive exposure to sun are all detrimental your skin’s health. When consumed these act as diuretics, which dehydrate skin, while too much exposure to sun induces skin damage. Avoiding these things will not only ensure soft and supple skin, but also improve your overall health.

Homemade facials and packs only have temporary effects. So instead of depending on just them, improve your exercise and sleep habits. Exercise increases circulation and makes skin firm. It also reduces stress hormones, which age you as well. And as we all know, a good night’s sleep will help you get rid of those dark circles and so much more.
